Sympower

Sympower is an energy load aggregator that helps commercial and industrial facilities monetize their energy assets, such as HVAC, batteries, generators, and pumps, through grid services.

Leading European aggregator of energy resources for demand-response

Sympower is an Amsterdam-based energy load aggregation platform that helps commercial and industrial facilities monetize their energy assets, such as HVAC, batteries, generators, and pumps, through grid services. A mission-driven, zero-emission organization and certified B-Corp, Sympower offers grid operators a low-cost, carbon-free alternative to fossil fuel generation that leverages existing demand-side assets as grid balancing resources to support the transition to a reliable, resilient, and decarbonized electric grid of the future.

As we rapidly decarbonize our electrical infrastructure and shift away from fossil fuel generation, it is increasingly challenging for grid operators to manage the reliability of the grid. Traditionally, frequency regulation services are supplied by large power plants, such as natural gas or hydropower generators that can quickly ramp up or down to fill the need. Low-cost, carbon-free flexibility resources will be critical components of a successful energy transition, and we expect spending on these balancing services to dramatically increase going forward.
